Sibelius Lodge – 9448

Sibelius Lodge – 9448

Our Worshipful Master welcomes you to Sibelius Lodge 9448.

Regular meetings of Sibelius Lodge are held on the 4th Tuesday in January (from 2025), 1st Monday in March (Inst), 4th Monday in September and 2nd Monday in November, Emergencies excepted, of which every member shall have due notice.

Sibelius is a Freemasons Lodge within the Province of Essex.

On these pages you will find information about Freemasonry in general and this Lodge in particular. For too long we have been regarded by the world at large with negative comments, despite our widely known charitable work, and this site has been created in such a way as to be open and visible to the world.

Sibelius is a Lodge warranted by the United Grand Lodge of England.

Since it’s founding Sibelius has raised many thousands of pounds for charitable causes, both Masonic and non-Masonic.

On any Masonic site you will see pages about charity and indeed it is a cornerstone of our order.

Is Freemasonry open?

Far from being closed, our accounts are published and anyone examining them may be surprised to discover that the money distributed to charity by Freemasons in the UK comes second only to the National Lottery.

Sometimes we are asked who can be a Freemason?  Do you need to be a professional or successful in your career? The answer in each case being no. With an estimated membership of five million Freemasons worldwide we have members across the whole spectrum.

Apart from the fact that you must be at least twenty one years of age there is only one absolute requirement to becoming a Freemason and that is a belief in a supreme being. It matters not one bit what you might call this supreme being and we take pride in the fact that at any Masonic meeting you are likely to find a wide range of religions represented.

If you are already a Freemason you will know that there really is no financial advantage to you in business from being a Mason but if you would like to do something essentially good and spend some of your time helping others less fortunate than yourself, then perhaps you should consider becoming a Freemason yourself.
